Abstract

Anatomy is the basis of medicine and biomedical sciences. It defines medical language and is core in training of surgery, radiology and oncology. The Anatomy journal of Africa was born of joint ideas and consultations between several prominent African anatomists under the auspices of the Association of Anatomical Societies of Africa (AASA). This journal provides a new unique avenue for communication of anatomical research in multiple fields of anatomy ranging from clinical anatomy, teaching, morphology, comparative anatomy, anatomical variations and developmental anatomy.
