Aberrations on myoblasts signalling and migration pathways lead to anatomical variants on the developing skeletal muscles. The present study details variant triceps surae observed during routine dissection of a 42-years-old embalmed male cadaver on the right leg region. According to the origin, position, orientation, shape, insertion and innervation topographies of the supranumerally muscle, it was considered as accessories triceps surae. Knowledge on existing variants on the calf elements, is of importance to surgeons, anatomists and physiotherapist during their normal routine procedures or during evaluation of CT and MRI scans by the radiologists.
